What you may do without asking

• Quote a passage in your own writing, research, reporting, slides, or internal materials, with attribution and a link to the source page.
• Link to anything here. No permission needed, ever, for any page.
• Share an episode by link, and subscribe to the podcast feed in any player you like.
• Cite the work in academic, policy, or professional output.

What needs permission first

• Republishing a briefing, report, episode, or transcript in full or in substantial part, anywhere.
• Redistributing the audio, or hosting copies of it, rather than linking to it.
• Reusing the artwork or illustrations on their own.
• Bulk or automated reproduction of the archive, including collecting it into a dataset.

Permission is usually a short email away, and it is normally granted. Ask at assistant@theobservabilitylayer.com and say what you want to use and where it will appear.

Material that is not ours

These pages quote and analyse statutes, standards, papers, model cards, and lab publications. That material belongs to its own authors and publishers, is quoted for reporting, commentary, and scholarship, and is cited to its source so you can go and read the original. Nothing here claims ownership of it, and nothing here supersedes the terms it arrived under.

How the podcast is made

The podcast hosts are AI agents. The research, analysis, and editorial direction are human work; the presentation is synthesised. Every episode says so out loud, and every episode page carries the same disclosure. It is stated because a publication about observing AI systems should be observable itself.
