Patch versions correct errors without changing a recommendation, research finding or evidence conclusion. A substantive change requires a new minor edition with its own evidence review. Every version keeps a permanent address. Read the individual corrections in the errata →
Version 1.0.1 · 3 October 2026
A corrections release. The evidence cutoff remains 2 October 2026. Source links and the status of US model-risk guidance SR 26-2 were rechecked on 3 October 2026.
Corrected
- The executive summary now reports the joint update failures for each benchmark panel with its own denominator instead of a combined count, and explains the 40.74% monitoring result in plain terms.
- The introduction’s organization table now covers Appendices A–K, including the regulatory cross-tab.
- Tables in chapters 6, 11 and 16 now name the exact practices they rely on, such as H-RUN-01, instead of whole practice families. Each practice identifier links to its definition in Appendix B.
- Chapter 16 now separates the 17 regulatory instruments, which match the regulatory map, from technical specifications and voluntary technical frameworks. It also states the SR 26-2 applicability line from the Federal Reserve cover letter.
- Appendix J.2 now explains how to cite the handbook, its license status and its versions. Appendix H.5 now describes the checks actually performed for this version.
- Edition labels are consistent. The first public release is edition 1.0 of 2 October 2026; labels 2.0 and 2.1 that appeared on that release referred to the same edition.
Renamed
- The 30 regulatory explanations are now X01–X30 (formerly T01–T30), so T identifies only the 36 acceptance tests. X01 is the former T01, and so on. The spreadsheet headers say “Explanation ID”.
- Figure files are numbered in the order the figures appear. The earlier file addresses keep working.
Added
- An identifier registry in Appendix A.1, and a table in Appendix C showing which implementation specifications each of the ten templates supports.
- Permission to reuse the ten JSON templates and the Appendix C.1–C.6 forms under the MIT License. See template reuse. Other handbook content keeps its current terms.
- A text description inside every figure, accurate image descriptions on the web pages, a tagged PDF with bookmarks, and Markdown figures that load from their hosted addresses.
- A dated status source for each of the 17 regulatory instruments.
